Why this blog?

Being successful in one's career or being monetarily rich (still need to get here ;-)) is only one part of life's equation. This blog is the result of many profound changes and experiences in my life. I am blessed to be from the original Vedic tradition and was brought up with true wisdom of these ancient ways. In addition, I myself am certified in several natural healing modalities and have been gifted with artistic and musical abilities. But it is one thing to have all the knowledge in the world and another to live by it's wisdom.

These last few years- it seems like somewhere the "mundane professional lifestyle" had taken the upper hand. In addition to it, the grief of losing a dear family member (who was the pillar of my life) did not help! It seemed easier to simply concentrate on work instead of truly working on myself and living a life, where I was really happy- truly in sync with myself- where I was implementing all the wise ideas and living in a way that allows me to be in genuine unison with life energy itself (true philosophy and meaning of Yoga).

I live in a super beautiful city (Calgary) very near to the Canadian Rockies which is one of the most beautiful places in the world! Though I had visited the main "touristy" spots, I had not really explored the Rockies, my original reason to specifically immigrate to Canada.

BUT now it is time for change. Like all implementations- this one where I intend to implement on all the wisdom of Ayurveda and Yoga is going to be fraught with challenges and accomplishments. And, like all the other challenges in my life, I intend to face these challenges, learn and work thru them towards my goal- which is to live a natural, healthy lifestyle. A lifestyle where I am not only living in a green and sustainable manner (which is good for our earth) but also where I feel true happiness and contentment which is experienced when one is in "Yoga"- i.e. in unison with life-energy .

I really hope that readers find my journey inspiring and can find their own scenarios reflected in my varied challenges and successes!

Please join me in spirit on this journey and hopefully my story will inspire you towards a healthy, natural way of living... :-)

Special Note: Those of you that know me personally may wonder- why was this journey not covered on www.SandhyaBhat.com or www.MaitreyiParadigm.com ? www.SandhyaBhat.com is my professional blog and even though it has a personal section- it simply provides a little glimpse into my arts, crafts, photography and simple personal aspects which can be shared on a professional platform. It does not speak to my life-journey and it's inspiring moments.

Maitreyi Paradigm site (Maitreyi being my mystic pen name) is really about understanding mysticism within each one of us. It hopes to explain the scientific/real basis for ancients texts and wisdom- ways to address life's mysteries and scenarios in a more mystic or spiritual way.

This blog on the other hand- shows the journey- it speaks about all ways that were tried to find a more successful approach- it shows the struggle and strife within each one of us- the battle of the good and bad, each one of us goes thru within and hopes, prays and tries to ensure that the "good" always wins. This is that journey... I just remembered a simple yet profound Sanskrit skloka which so optimally explains what "journey towards one-ness" I am speaking about in this blog-

असतो मा सत्गमय ।
तमसो  मा ज्योतिर्गमय ।
मृत्योर्मा अमृत्तंगमय ।

It indicates one's prayers and intention which say:

(Take me) from untruth to truth.
(Take me) from darkness to light.
(Take me) from mortal life to immortality.
